Dr. Feudtner is a pediatrician who focuses on how to improve the quality of life for children with complex chronic conditions (CCCs) and their families. As an investigator, Chris is investigating the epidemiology and health care experience of children with CCCs, with particular emphasis on palliative, end-of-life, and bereavement care.  He is the Director of Research for the Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) and the Integrated Care Service (ICS) at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  He has active interests in ethics and medical history, and recently published a book, Bittersweet: Diabetes, Insulin, and the Transformation of Illness (Chapel Hill, NC: University of North Carolina Press, 2003).
